Council Approves Contingency Fund Allocations

The Sheridan City Council Monday night allocated $75,000 toward economic development. The first allocation was for $25,000 to conduct a redundant power investigation within the Wrench Ranch Hills subdivision and the Hi-Tech Business Park in north Sheridan. Mayor Dave Kinskey.

The Council also approved a funding request in the amount of $50,000 from Forward Sheridan.

Both allocations were funded with the economic and community development one cent contingency funds. The Council also passed on third reading an ordinance raising the Mayor's salary from $24,000 a year to $48,000. The raise will not go into effect until January 1st, 2013. An ordinance creating a special improvement district for the Sheridan Commercial Park was approved on first reading.

The Council also approved a resolution supporting a request from Habitat for Humanity of the Eastern Big Horns to receive the $40,000 in County Consensus funds that was allocated to the Sheridan Housing Action Committee, who've ceased operations.
