Council Approves Code Ordinances

The Sheridan City Council Monday night approved a couple of ordinances on second reading updating the fire and building codes. City Building Official Kevin Bare explains an amendment that was approved to the building code ordinance.

There were no changes to the ordinance adopting the 2012 International Fire Code. Fire Marshal Brian Songer explains that they'll continue to offer classes two times a week through November 2nd.

The free presentations will be held on Fridays at 12:15 pm and on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm. Songer offered these comments about National Fire Prevention Week that wrapped up over the weekend with a community open house at the fire station.

The Council also received an update from Utilities Manager Dan Roberts on the lateral grinder that will be used at the City Landfill for construction and demolition material. Roberts stated that its all systems go as they received DEQ approval last week and will kick-off the pilot project Tuesday.
