An ordinance annexing a little over an acre of property located near the intersection of College Avenue and Washington Street was approved this week by the Sheridan City Council.
City Planning and Economic Development Director Robert Briggs said that of the 1.08 acre of property that was annexed, .89 acres is private property. He said the property is owned by Brett Sayer, Owner of SSR Construction Inc. Briggs said Sayer requested an R-4 Residence zoning for the property. The designation allows mobile and manufactured home parks as primary allowed use within the district, as it is the property owners intent to ultimately expand the mobile home community to the south into the annexation area.
Briggs said primary access to the area will be along College Avenue, and the existing retaining wall will be removed and the property re-graded to allow access onto College Avenue from the north. He said a small offsite water line expansion will be necessary to serve the property, and the owner intends to install water and sewer service throughout the site.
