UPDATE: We just received a call from Sheridan County Deputy Coroner Kevin Sessions saying his department did not handle a fatality in relation to the crash.
UPDATE: 6 a.m. Monday
As reported earlier, a multiple vehicle crash on Interstate 90 between Sheridan and Buffalo closed the icy highway for about three hours Saturday morning, amid blowing snow.
A traveler heading south from Sheridan to Casper said he saw a coroner's vehicle heading to the scene, but we've received no official confirmation that anyone died.
We did try to contact Sheridan County Coroner P.J. Kane, but when we called the number listed as the county coroner's office, we received an answering service message to a local funeral home saying the coroner no longer worked there and no information would be available until Monday morning. So, we'll try again this morning, just as soon as the funeral home opens for business.
As for specific details about the crash, we're waiting for the official release from the state highway patrol, and will pass that information on just as soon as it comes in to the station.
