The Johnson County Commissioners have renewed the contract between the Wyoming Game and Fish and Johnson County/Mikesell-Potts Recreation Area for 2012.
Commission Chair Smokey Wildeman explains further.
The contract has been in effect for a number of years, and County employee Rick Durfee has taken care of docks and maintenance not only at the recreation area but at the Monument Access as well.
The contract amount the G&F will reimburse Johnson County for was increased this year from $2,400 to $3,000 per year.
Durfee reported earlier this fall that this year's receipts from the campground at Mikesell-Potts were approximately $17,000, which is up significantly over 2010.
Plans for the winter season are to continue maintenance on the buildings and camping areas, build a new shelter at the south end of the recreation area and to check the cost effectiveness of installing electricity at some campgrounds at the rec area.
