Wyoming's Congresswoman Cynthia Lummis stopped in Sheridan Thursday afternoon to congratulate the students at Meadowlark Elementary for achieving Blue Ribbon status for excellence.
It's their Bobcat Pride that makes them successful, they told her, then gave her a little idea of what that means.
The students were also excited to tell her what they were working on – their daily planner. Camden Schroth showed her how it works.
Seeing on the planner they were having a spelling test the next day, she ran them through their words.
After the test, she took a minute to tell the students what her job is all about.
Before she left, though, it was the students who wanted some insider tips about the President and First Lady.
She left the school as the bell rang signaling the end of the day. That meant she got in on the full school experience, being surrounded by children as they grabbed their stuff, clamored to the hall, rushed down the stairs and burst outside to head home for the day.
