This evening is the kick-off concert of the 2011 Concerts in the Park season, with a performance by the Sheridan Community Concert Band.
David Kuzara has been manager of the Concerts in the Park series for the past four years, taking over from long-time manager Alan Bourne. He describes the series opening.
The Community Concert Band will perform the first three concerts of the series. Bill Avery conducts July 12th and Avery and Don Cherni share the baton on July 19th.
With concerts every Tuesday through August 16th, Kuzara outlines the remaining concerts of the summer, all of which feature groups from around the country.
Tonight's concert begins at 7:30, is free and open to the public. Bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit on, and bug spray might be a good idea as well.
