A month ago Wyoming Governor Matt Mead signed into law legislation allowing state residents to carry concealed handguns without obtaining a permit. Sheridan Police Chief Richard Adriaens says that there is one thing about the law that he doesn't necessarily agree with.
Once the new law goes into effect July 1st, it really won't change the way local officers do their job says Adriaens.
Wyoming joins Alaska, Vermont and Arizona as the only states in the nation to allow citizens to carry a concealed handgun without a permit. Vermont has never had a law preventing its residents from carrying a concealed weapon, yet they have one of the lowest rates of murder and violent crime in the nation.
