Sunday evening marked the 20th anniversary of the Community Holiday Dinner and it was deemed another success. Hungry hordes arrived early, forming a line that snaked its way around the atrium area of the Sheridan Holiday Inn waiting to be served up a fabulous turkey dinner with all the trimmings.
Bob DeFries has helped organize the event from its very beginning and said the night was absolutely wonderful.
Allie Hammond is from Colorado and is part of an Americorp team of ten who are working with Habitat for Humanity in Sheridan. They all stopped by to take part in the festivites.
And what does it take to make this event so special?
Music was provided by the Holiday Brass and the Craft Brothers. 450 gift bags were passed out and Santa and Mrs. Claus flew in just for the kids. Plans are already in the making for next year’s Community Holiday Dinner.
