The Wyoming Department of Transportation and the North Main community partners invite the public to a community celebration Monday for the opening of North Main Street in Sheridan. WYDOT District 4 Public Involvement Specialist Ronda Holwell says it's been a long time since North Main has been open all the way to north/south traffic.
Holwell says that they have planned a free event community celebration to commemorate this event.
The community celebration will be held from 11 am to 2 pm at the intersection of 2nd Street and Main in front of the Best Western and Dairy Queen. There will be an official ribbon cutting at 12:30 pm, and North Main is scheduled to officially re-open following the celebration at 2 pm. The North Main reconstruction project cost a little over $14 million.
