At their meeting Tuesday, the Sheridan County Board of County Commissioners rejected a series of bid packages for construction at the Sheridan County Airport. Three separate packages were introduced by airport manager, John Stopka, who recommended the commissioners not accept the bids.
Overall, Stopka said the bids were not competitively priced and over the budgeted amount for the work. Commissioner Terry Cram comments on the bidding process.
For a foundation and floor slab project for new hangars at the airport, Stopka said they'd prefer to find a small contractor in town. A bid package for steel erection for the new hangars was also turned down.
And for work on a self-fueling station at the airport, Stopka said there was only one bidder and the price was significantly higher than expected.
