The Sheridan County Commissioners held a special meeting Wednesday to make an appointment to fill the vacancy of the House District 30 seat that was caused by Jon Botten's resignation. The two applicants were Pete Schoonmaker and Kathy Coleman, who ran unopposed for the seat in August's Primary Election. After a brief question and answer period, Commissioners unanimously chose Coleman to fill the unexpired term.
Commission Chair Mike Nickel says Coleman's commitment is what persuaded Commissioners to appoint her.
Coleman will fill Botten's unexpired term that runs through January 7th, 2013.
