Johnson County's Commissioners, at last week's meeting, discussed the Library and Fair Boards, getting updates on their activities during their recent meetings.
Commissioner John Gibbs said the Library Board had looked into the possibility of creating their own special district, but the idea is frowned upon at the state level, and will not pursue it further.
Assessor Cindy Rogers explained more about the Library Board's questions to the commissioners.
Also discussed was the Fair Board and their last meeting.
Gibbs said the fair board has started advertising for a new member due to a resignation of one of its members.
The four projects identified earlier by the board have all been given the approval of the board and they will work towards accomplishing them in no particular order of preference.
Those projects are the grandstand upgrade, the kitchn in the community building, electrical upgrades at the facility, and the restrooms on the far side of the arena.
Gibbs said he was impressed with the speed at which the board is moving the planning of the projects along.
