Sheridan's County Commissioners held a special meeting this morning to commemorate 125 years of county government.
Sheridan County came into being in 1888 after a territorial legislature passed an act allowing Johnson County to be divided up. Commissioner and historian, Tom Ringley, explains why citizens chose to make the split.
Attendees were also treated to an historical exhibit courtesy of the Wyoming Room in the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library.
The commissioners used the commemorative meeting to recognize past and present County employees for longevity of service.
