The Sheridan County Commissioners Tuesday authorized an agreement with WYDOT regarding grant funding for the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program. The grant will allow for the application of magnesium chloride for dust suppression on about 300 miles of Sheridan County roads during the summer of 2012. County Engineer Ken Muller says that the future of the CMAQ funding is uncertain at this time.
CMAQ funding for the project is in the amount of $300,000. The agreement that was approved by the Commissioners allows the County to use Capital Facilities Tax funding to meet the $75,000 match for the project.
