Sheridan County commissioners have appointed Beth White of Ranchester to fill a vacancy on the county fair association board of directors.
The action came during Tuesday's county commission meeting. Commission Chairman Terry Cram in comments after the meeting said White is from a family of long-time ranchers in the area. He added her father, Bill, is a former member of the fair board.
In other action Tuesday, commissioners authorized the chairman to sign annual statement of income and expenses for the fiscal year that ended on June 30. The statement shows that total income for the county was down slightly from budget projections for the year. The county projected income of just over $21.3 million, but took in just over $21.15 million. But the county received more revenues from sales and severance taxes than anticipated for the year.
Expenses were slightly less than budgeted for the year. The county had budgeted just under $22.6 million but actually spent only $20.2 million.
During the public comment portion of the meeting, commissioners heard from Tamy Green, who showed a video prepared by her daughter in an effort to raise awareness about suicide and suicide prevention.
