Though the filing period to run for office doesn't open until May 15, we've now learned that all three Sheridan County commissioners who's term is up are running for re-election.
They are Bob Rolston, Steve Maier and Terry Cram. We caught up with Rolston last week. That story is posted online at sheridanmedia.com. Today we focus on Maier.
Maier is running for a third term as a county commissioner. He said when he ran the first time, eight years ago, in 2006, he was working part-time as a consultant after retiring as president of Sheridan College. He said his platform at that time was his experience.
He decided to run again, he said, because he enjoys the job.
At this point, he said, there are particular projects he'd like to see through.
He said there are many achievements he's proud of, but mostly, when speaking of the commission, he's proud of their working relationship.
He said he still feels he has the skill set that's viable to county service, like he did when he was first elected. If re-elected, he said, he'll continue his dedication and commitment to the people of Sheridan County.
