The Johnson County Planning and Zoning Commission is in a holding pattern at the moment, awaiting more public comment on the proposed county zoning regulations.
They have set a deadline of today, December 20th, for the public to submit their comments.
Public meetings were held in Buffalo and Kaycee last week to gather public input on the regulations, with the majority of those in attendance speaking against the regulations.
The Planning and Zoning Commission will take all comments gathered and discuss them at their next meeting January 14th, before digesting them and making a decision on whether or not to recommend to the county commissioners adopting the zoning regulations.
Their recommendation to the commissioners is expected soon after their January meeting.
To make a comment on the proposed zoning regulations, or for questions, contact the Johnson County Planning Department at 684-1907, or by stop by 26 N. DeSmet Street.
