A writer from Wyoming is asking the local community to share stories and photos for publication in his next book.
News Director Leslie Stratmoen has the story.
Author and Sheridan Media columnist Bill Sniffin is gathering information for another book about Wyoming. This one, he says, was inspired by the left-overs from his popular coffee-table book, “Wyoming's 7 Greatest Wonders,” he released last year.
He says he's been in awe of the state's beauty since he first visited Wyoming as a young man, in the west-central part of the state, near Lander.
Based on that same idea, of a moment in time that was special, for this book, he wants people from throughout the state to share their Wyoming moments about their connections to specific places, like the Big Horns in Sheridan County.
He says the stories would be offered free gratis, but he would be paying some of the professional photographers for the one-time use of their images. Submissions for consideration can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
To get an idea of the quality and style of the book proposed, he says his coffee-table book can be found at the local book store. That's Sheridan Stationery on Main Street. And, he says, if you do pick one up, take an extra close look at the cover shot, because the image was taken by Sheridan's own, Tim Doolin.
