For the past few years, Sheridan Travel and Tourism, along with hospitality and tourism-focused businesses and organizations in Sheridan County, has awarded Sweepstakes Packages for both summer and wintertime fun.
The Summer Sweepstakes 2011 couldn't have gone to a more delightful family. Pat and Tanya McCullough of Denver, along with their seven-year-old son Jackson, spent four days exploring Sheridan County.
Thanks to the suggestion of a family friend, Pat entered the contest online and then received an e-mail in May alerting him that his family had won. Originally suspicious, he at first wasn't going to open the e-mail, but then after learning it was legit, they were all excited. Tanya tells us.
The family was in Sheridan June 20th through the 24th, spending two nights at the Sheridan Holiday Inn, shopping downtown Sheridan and visiting the sites, and then headed up to the Elk View Lodge in the Big Horn Mountains. Tanya raves.
Adding to the McCullough's stay at the Elk View was the fact that they had the place to themselves and truly personalized service, becoming fast friends with the owners, the kitchen and dining room staff and housekeepers.
Jackson chatted with Mary Jo Johnson while wearing quite a piece of headgear.
The McCulloughs have visited Wyoming before, but really only the Cheyenne area, so Mary Jo had to ask Pat.
You know, you might just see them back in Sheridan after all – just look for a seven-year-old boy with a really cool Western Cougar hat.
