College President Teaches Philosophy Courses

Sheridan College President and Doctor of Philosophy, Paul Young, will be wearing two hats this fall, as he'll be both an administrator and professor. This will be the second time Young teaches classes on campus; the first was in 2011.

Young will be teaching his area of expertise in a class based off of Hegel's work, “The Phenomenology of Spirit.”

While philosophy isn't necessarily a trade that lands most people jobs in the real world, Young explains studying philosophers enriches lives by bringing greater understanding to life.

Young's class starts Aug. 27, and will be on Tuesdays and Thursday afternoons at 2 p.m. He's also teaching a shorter course at Spear-O-Wigwam July 19-21. For more information on either courses, call the Sheridan College admissions office.
