The Northern Wyoming Community College District Board of Trustees received an update on the budget at their meeting Thursday night. Sheridan College President Dr. Paul Young advised the Board that the budget will not include any salary increases for faculty and staff.
Young pointed out that the College District hasn't had to eliminate any personnel to make up for the cuts from the state; however, they'll continue to be cautious with the funding that they do have.
Young said that he will continue to meet with faculty and staff to inform them of the salary freeze for the upcoming budget for the fiscal year.
The Board also set the date for their next meeting for Wednesday, July 21 at 8:00 am. State statute requires that all community colleges hold their budget hearing and approve the budget on the third Wednesday in July.
