Renovation continues on Sheridan College’s Thorne-Rider Campus Center, with construction crews working on the campus’ new outdoor mall that includes a plaza and amphitheater, and changes to the façade of the Griffith Memorial Building.
Kent Andersen is the college's director of facilities. He said construction to the Griffith Memorial Building, which houses the library and the Sheridan College Foundation, will feature additional square footage of needed academic space and allow for better access to the Thorne-Rider Campus Center and outdoor mall.
Much of the area between the Edward A. Whitney Academic Center, the Griffith Memorial Building and the Thorne-Rider Campus Center will be fenced off while under construction. So students and visitors traveling from the Whitney Building to the Bruce Hoffman Golden Dome are being advised to pass through the north entrance of the Griffith building and exit through the east doors.
Construction of the Griffith Memorial Building, Thorne-Rider and outdoor mall are on schedule to be completed in mid-August.
