Club's Duck Race A Success, Summer Season Begins Soon

The 24th Annual Buffalo Swim Club's Duck Race took place Saturday in Buffalo's Clear Creek, and if ticket sales and interested people along the banks of the creek are any indication, the race was again a successful fundraiser for the club.

Nine hundred and three tickets were sold and each had a correlating numbered duck that was dropped into Clear Creek at the Klondike Bridge, and they sped downstream to be collected at the Lobban Street Bridge.

Prizes were provided by 28 businesses around town and were awarded for first and last duck to finish and for finishing in various other positions.
This year's top winner with the fastest duck was Bill Webber, Sr. who won ten percent of the gross earnings from sales.
Nichole Wonka had the last duck to finish and won dinner for 6 at the HF Bar Ranch. Krista Christoffer Palmer won a leather case for fly fishing and April Nehf Constantine won lunch at Sagewood.
Many other prizes were awarded as well.

Ashlee Webber sold the most tickets, over 400, and was awarded $50 for being the club's top seller. This was her third year in a row for top sales.

The club's winter season had 50 swimmers, and they are preparing for their summer season which starts May 5th and continues through July. This will be their second summer season and hope to utilize the outdoor pool more this year, including hosting the Second Annual Kate Holt Memorial Swim Meet at the outdoor pool July 5th and 6th.
