In a matter of days the Historic Sheridan Inn will close its doors to the public due to a lack of funding to keep the building operational. Sheridan Heritage Center President Jake Brooks says that they had no other option but to close the Inn.

Brooks says that in a few days most of the operations at the Inn will be shut down.

The Sheridan Heritage Center needs to make a loan payment to the bank in the amount of $100,000 in January of 2013 to avoid losing ownership of the building.

Brooks said that the Heritage Center will continue to look at ways to raise the needed funds by the beginning of the year. Financial problems for the Historic Sheridan Inn are nothing new, as the Inn has been in some type of financial turmoil almost since it opened to serve the railroad in 1893.
