An adventure captured through photographs and put to music will be offered Wednesday night at the Buffalo Theater.
“Denali Traverse” is a photo record of the climbing of Mount McKinley, or Denali, as the native Alaskans call it, by Sheridan native Kameron Condos and three of his friends.
Ashlea Bassett, Services Specialist with Sheridan College in Johnson County, tells us more about the presentation and how it came about.
Condos and three friends traversed the entire mountain from north to south, following the same route of the first successful climb completed in 1913.
The group planned for two years and spent 40 days and nights in the Alaskan wilderness from mid-April through the end of May of this year, facing 100 mph winds, cold to 50 below zero, crevasses, avalanches and many other challenges.
The presentation will be at 7pm Wednesday at the Buffalo Theater and is free to the public.
