Sheridan County and the City of Sheridan will be hosting a public informational meeting in a couple of weeks regarding the soon to be adopted new Flood Insurance Rate Maps. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has the details.
Representatives from the County and City will be on hand to discuss the FIRM maps along with the proposed changes to Flood Plain Management Regulations. FEMA will have a representative on hand as well to discuss the National Flood Insurance program and to help with any questions regarding flood insurance.
The FIRM maps along with the Flood Insurance Study are used by Sheridan County and the incorporated communities to manage activity within flood plain areas. The public informational meeting will be held Tuesday, October 1 at 5:30 pm in the Sheridan County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall.
