The reconstruction of Lewis Street Bridge in downtown Sheridan has now closed Dow Street, from Alger to
Marion.

In a project update meeting held this week, project manager Joe Schoen of the city of Sheridan said the road would stay closed for the next 3-4 weeks.

Project engineer Loren Wooden of the Wyoming Department of Transportation was also there. He said the project is moving along smoothly. Ronda Holwell, who's also with the state transportation department, said the rebuild affects 10 land owners in the area, which is nearly a tenth of the 98 affected during the north Main project of 2009-10, but that doesn't lessen the impact.

Sean Bonnet, who's the lab manager for Sheridan Medical Laboratories on Dow Street, said his company has already rerouted clients to a temporary back entrance. Director Cameron Duff of the county library on Alger said they've already moved the book drop-off box from Alger to North Brooks.

The rebuild is being done through the city's partnership with the state transportation department. Update meetings are now being held weekly, on Tuesdays, at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at the Best Western in Sheridan. Holwell said the public is always welcome to attend.
