City Utilities Bill Printing, Payment Processing Outsourced

Sheridan residents probably noticed their city utilities bill looks different this month.

Instead of the tri-fold, heat-sealed document with perforated margins, the new bills are full-page documents and come with an enclosed repayment envelope. Additionally, payments are now directed to a P.O. Box in Denver. Utilities Manager, Daniel Roberts explains the bills are now being printed by a company called Infosend in Southern California.

Roberts also explained there's a new way of processing payments once they're received.

The new bills enable the city to include public notices, if necessary, and will save countless man hours of city employees. Roberts indicated that no city employees in his department have been fired because of this new system, but there were some positions that were not refilled when employees left for unrelated reasons.
