The City of Sheridan began the first of many budget work sessions Wednesday with a report from City Treasurer Jennifer Reed, who indicated that this year's general fund budget will be $9.8 million. She also stated that the numbers for the supplemental budget have been left out as it will be considered a special fund
Reed also pointed out that since 2009, the general fund budget has shrunk by 27 percent. Sheridan Mayor Dave Kinskey stated that once the economy turns around, Sheridan will be in a lot better shape than other communities because of they way the City has handled the downturn in the economy.
Budget work sessions will take place during the noon hour at City Hall almost every weekday throughout the month. The budget will officially be adopted by the City Council on June 18th.
