City of Sheridan Planning Commissioner Alex Lee has resigned his position due to his recent win in the General Election.

At Monday night's City of Sheridan Planning Commission meeting, Commission Chair Alex Lee announced his resignation. Lee resigned in light of the recent General Election, where Lee was elected to represent Ward Two on the Sheridan City Council. Lee says his two years on the Planning Commission were very rewarding.

Lee points out that his future replacement on the Commission doesn't necessarily have to have a political background.

Nancy Silla will now serve as Chair of the Commission. Applicants interested in serving on the Planning Commission can contact the City of Sheridan for more information.

The Commission also approved the annexation of 3.7 acres of land located off of KROE Lane. The parcel of land is the only remaining property outside of City limits on the portion of KROE Lane west of Interstate 90. The land is located just adjacent to the City's service center and used to be the site for the CNZ Corporation wood pellet manufacturing operation. The property owner also requested that the area be rezoned to M-1, which was also approved by the Commission.
