The City of Sheridan Planning Commission refused to take any action on a proposed amendment to the City’s sign ordinance. The updated code would get very specific about size and height of business signs. One addition provided to the commission would enable a person with multiple non-conforming signs to receive a bonus by removing those signs. The bonus would allow the remaining primary sign to slightly exceed ordinance standards in either size or height. Commissioner Alex Lee explains their lack of action.
The planning commission only provides recommendations to the City Council and so the matter may still be considered by the City Council at their next meeting on December 21st.
The Commission also approved a minor subdivision on land recently annexed into the City of Sheridan near the Sheridan Country Club. The five tracts of land will include nine additional holes for the Country Club golf course. Developers plan to eventually construct homes in the area along the golf course, and this subdivision will accommodate those plans.
