City Planner: Buffalo Growth, Economic Diversity

Buffalo's City Planner, Zach Montgomery, addressed the public during Wednesday's State of the City Address, and said in addition to his planning duties, he feels he also needs to concentrate on recruiting development, both residential and commercial, to spur economic development in the City.

Montgomery also gave a rundown of current projects his department is working on, and what he expects to work on this year.

On his radar for 2011 is to rewrite/condense/simplify the City Subdivision Ordinance; rewrite and update the 1978 City Zoning Ordinance; Co-author the Wyoming Business Council's Economic Development Plan;create a Capital Improvements Plan; create a city/county/state Economic Advisory committee; seek funding for numerous city projects; and start on a 30-year Transportation Plan.
