The Sheridan City Council passed an ordinance on third reading that allows the Council to use the dilapidation account to cover future building fee waivers granted by the Council. City Councilor Steve Brantz tells us there are limited funds in that account.
The catch comes when local developer Steve Grimshaw started an affordable housing project in fiscal 2009 and now the fee structures have changed.
Grimshaw requested a complete waiver of both building fees and plant investment fees for his Carrington Project. If the waivers are granted the City would deplete their dilapidation account by nearly one-third. The Council tabled any action on the requested fee waivers until their August 3rd meeting.
