The City of Sheridan hosted a follow up meeting Thursday night to a meeting they held in late February to address concerns of residents that live nearby the City landfill. City officials presented possible solutions to concerns that were raised, including illegal dumping and trash along perimeter roads; better control of the odor and rodents and ways to improve public education about recycling.
City Solid Waster Manager Charles Martineau says that improving communication with the adjacent landowners is something that they will begin working on immediately.
Martineau indicated that they are looking into several options to help control the odor at the landfill.
The rodent problem is also in the process of being addressed right now as well.
The City will hold a meeting in 6 months with the landowners to see if their concerns have been addressed in being a better neighbor to the nearby residents.
