Budget discussions for the City of Sheridan are underway as there was a City Council work session Monday where Treasurer Jennifer Reed updated the Council on the budget process. Reed stated that in March, the City will have their preliminary revenue estimates and department heads will start to craft their budgets in April.
Mayor Dave Kinskey stated that legislators are keeping cities and towns on a short leash in regards to supplemental funding. Reed said that in May, the City will begin their month long series of budget work sessions and that the budget must be approved no later than the third Tuesday in June.
As far as when the City will learn of the sales and use tax numbers for December?
During her presentation, Reed stated to the Council that they've had a 20 percent reduction in staff since fiscal year 2011.
