Former City Councilman Scott Severs resigned from the Sheridan City Council earlier this month. For the past several weeks they have been accepting letters of interest from those who wish to fill Sever’s vacant seat. The deadline to apply was last Friday. The City received six applications from Art Elkins, Michael Cherni Jr., Jerry Grandahl, Kathy Shanor, John Heath, and David Schellinger.
The Sheridan City Council has called a special meeting tomorrow to consider each of the applicants. They hope to choose the new member at tomorrow’s meeting, as well. The Council’s goal was to have that person attend their first meeting at the regularly scheduled time on August 3rd.
The Council will interview each of the candidates at tomorrow’s meeting and City Clerk Scott Badley says the meeting will be open to the public. The person who is picked, will fill the seat until next year’s general election.
