City Council Gets Snapshot Of Current Finances

Sales tax revenues in the City of Sheridan dropped almost nine percent in fiscal 2009. A one time increase in use taxes helped total revenues remain relatively level. The Sheridan City Council received a financial outlook for the City from City Treasurer Jennifer Reed.

The Council will have to consider the possibility of continued decreases in revenue when working on future budgets.

Councilor Steve Brantz wanted to see a snapshot of the City’s finances at this moment and he says revenue projections are still falling.

The Council plans to have monthly financial updates to better prepare for creating future budgets and to make sure the city stays within it’s current budget.
