City Council Chooses New Councilor

The Sheridan City Council considered five applications to fill the vacant council seat on Monday at City Hall. Jerry Grandahl would have been the sixth candidate but he withdrew his application on Monday morning. The five remaining applicants were interviewed by the Council and asked the same series of three questions. City Councilor John Bigelow was originally appointed to the council in a similar process.

All six current members of the council were present and it took only one ballot for them to choose John Heath to fill the open Ward One seat.

Heath will have very little time to get himself up to speed on current council events. He will attend their first Council meeting next Monday, August 3rd. Heath will fill the seat until December 2010. The seat will be on the ballot during next year’s general election.
