The Sheridan City Council approved the Cloud Peak Ranch 3 Annexation on 1st reading Monday night. The ordinance annexes 557 acres into the City just west of Sheridan High School. City Planning Director Robert Briggs says that the 557 acres isn't one big chunk of land, as it's split between 5th Street.
While the Council did approve the ordinance on 1st reading, there is still some work to be done says Briggs.
One condition of the annexation is that future proposed subdivisions, which include water and sewer infrastructure, will be required to obtain a water and sewer extension permit through the City's utilities department. City staff will continue to work with Developer Don Roberts before the item is considered for 2nd reading by the Council at their next meeting August 2nd.
