At their meeting this week the Buffalo City Council got a mostly clean audit report from Dooley and Jelly, CPAs.
Bill Dooley reported that the city's accounting practices are in order for the most part and financial records being kept and reported properly, with a couple of minor accounting issues that need changed, which he admitted city employees are aware of and working towards getting into standard accounting practices.
This is the first year that the city has been required to adopt a more in-depth accounting practice, according to Dooley, as this is the first year the City of Buffalo has been considered a first-class city.
Overall the city's audit turned out fine but city employees and the CPAs will be working together this year to gain a better understanding of the requirements of the new accounting practices in preparation for next year's audit.
The council voted to accept the audit report for 2012.
