City Of Buffalo Asking Public For Help To ID Stolen Property

At the last Buffalo City Council meeting, City Attorney Ben Kirven again asked those attending the meeting to remind friends and family with storage units to check to see if they are missing items and contact the Buffalo Police Department to see if the items have been recovered recently from a number of arrests made by the department.

He explains further

Kirven said at some point the city will “have to throw in the towel,” meaning they will have to advertise the items recovered and if they are still not claimed they will, by state law, have to sell the items at public auction.

If you believe you have been a victim of theft from a storage unit in recent months, contact the Buffalo Police Department at 684-5581.

Kirven also reported that he and Animal Control Officer Karen Kimutis are still working on updating animal codes for the city.

Buffalo Police Chief Jason Carder told the council he will be presenting bid proposals on the new patrol vehicle at the next council meeting.

And extra officers will be on duty this weekend for the street dance and the following weekend for the dance in the park, and all officers will be on duty for the Fair and Rodeo Parade on Saturday, August 3rd.
