The Buffalo City Council has awarded the contract for the South Burritt Street Reconstruction Project to Powder River Construction of Gillette.
They were the lowest bidder of the five bids the city received for the project.
Their bid was for just over $2.3 million, which was higher than expected, but less than the original engineer's estimate on the project.
City Works Director Les Hook explains further.
Mayor Randy Dyess said the project will not be completed until August, and payments will be due after that, so the city will have another budget session this year in which to plan for the costs.
They have nearly $1 million already in place from the state in SLIB (State Lands and Investments Board) funding.
The council voted to accept the bid from Powder River Construction.
