An informal group in Sheridan has been formed to help advance recreation in the area. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has the story.

A group of citizens recently approached the Sheridan County YMCA about how to address several of the major recreation needs in Sheridan. YMCA Executive Director Jay McGinnis says that there are two main areas the “Citizens for Recreation” will look to address.

McGinnis said that the group realizes that what is being envisioned isn't going to happen overnight.

To learn more about the group and how you can help, you can contact Jay McGinnis at the YMCA by calling 674-7488, or by email at jmcginnis@sheridanymca.org. Be sure to join us Friday, where we'll hear more from McGinnis regarding the aging pool situation in Sheridan.
