Last summer the City of Sheridan installed a traffic control test “island” at the intersection of Wyoming Avenue and Whittier Street. This was done to prevent through traffic on Wyoming Avenue, and was the first step in what is known as the Wyoming-Park project.

In 2010, the City hosted two public workshops to garner input from area residents on what they would like to see included in the project, and Thursday night the City held an informational meeting to unveil the draft plan of the project. City Engineer Lane Thompson says that this is an areas that needs to be addressed.

The next step is to go through all of the public comments that were submitted either orally at the meeting or via the comment forms that were present at the tables. Tentative plans are to begin the project this summer. The Wyoming-Park project is broken up into a four phase multi-year project that will cost around $8.4 million.
