It’s hard to think about Christmas when it’s only September, but the Sheridan Christmas Stroll committee has been planning the annual stroll most of the year. Every spring, Sheridan area elementary students are asked to participate in an art contest to design the Stroll Buttons. This year’s winning entry was submitted by 7-year-old Claire Schnatterbeck.
In addition to having her artwork adorn 3,000 stroll buttons, Schnatterbeck also received $100 in Chamber Bucks. Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Janelle Martinsen says they had over 30 entries to choose from this year.
The annual stroll button design contest is open to all children who are in 6th grade or younger. Schnatterbeck will take her place among the youngest winners ever -- she just started 2nd grade this fall.
