Santa shows up in quite a few places this time of year, and the Kalif Shrine is no exception. Sheridan Media's Judy Hagerott stopped in at the annual Christmas party the Shriners put on the for the little people and brings us this story.
Saturday, the Kalif Shrine held it's annual Christmas Party for kids. There's always a great turnout and the Shriners were expecting 800-900 kids to come on in and get a balloon, visit Santa, and then grab a bite to eat and of course, parents were allowed. Jared Coache was there with his two boys Jordan and Zander and appreciated the family friendly atmosphere.
His son Jordan was primed and ready to go after he saw Santa. And what did Santa have to say to Jordan?
Well, that's a start. Each kid received a stocking with a stuffed animal and a bunch of candy. Jordan planned a budget for his sweet tooth.
I cornered Santa wondering where all his elves were. I mean there were clowns everywhere, Mrs. Claus was there, and the Shriners couldn't be missed with all those fezzes on top of their heads, but where were the elves?
Now, Rudolf was there with his red nose and a couple of other reindeer acting as greeters, but where were the other reindeer?
And if there were only three reindeer, how in the world did Santa get there with only three reindeer considering his bulging belly?
That was a no brainer. Warren Pearson has organized the Christmas party for years and says it's all about the kids.
But that's what the Shriners are all about...kids. Santa chimed in with these parting words.
