We’re now learning that about 15,000 different types of narcotics pills were taken in last week’s burglary of the Hospital Pharmacy in downtown Sheridan. The update’s coming from Sheridan Police Chief Rich Adriaens.

He said the street value of the pills is difficult to assess, but based on the market value of $5 a pill, could be upwards of $75,000. He gave us the details during a live interview Wednesday, at which time he also provided details about the break-in and update on the investigation.

He said they don’t know, yet, how many people were involved in the incident, which happened overnight Thursday to Friday morning. He said if anyone saw anything unusual at that time, call the station. Or if anyone in the medical community knows of someone who was trying to obtain prescription drugs but was turned down for appropriate reasons, they should call, too, because that person might be a suspect. The station number is 307-672-2413.
