Cheyenne Teenager Killed in Wreck on I-25, Two Others Injured

One teenager from Cheyenne was killed and two others were injured in a wreck on Interstate 25 Monday in Platte County. Sheridan Media's Chris Foy has the story.

Theodore L. Weekly, 18, died from injuries sustained after the driver, 18 year-old Dylan C. Freeman, lost control of his Ford pickup after hitting a patch of ice.

Sammantha J. Schulz, 19, and Freeman were treated and released from Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland, according to a media release from the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Freeman was driving northbound on I-25 when he encountered an icy roadway and lost control of his vehicle - when it began rotating. The vehicle went off the roadway, on the right side, going down a steep embankment.

The highway patrol's investigation says the pickup then rolled multiple times, going through the right-of-way fence. The vehicle finally came to rest on its roof.

Weekly was partially ejected through the front passenger door window and became trapped beneath the vehicle. Troopers investigating this crash say Freeman was driving at a speed too fast for the existing conditions.
