(Wyoming News Service)- The City of Cheyenne is certainly celebrating more than Frontier Days right now, as they were recently named one of the top ten “Most Livable Cities in America” by AARP The Magazine, and were also featured in the USA Today. Cheyenne Mayor Rick Kaysen says that this type of honor doesn't happen by accident.

Dale Steenbergen with the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce says the award is appreciated and the recognition is shared with all residents.

Some of the factors that landed Cheyenne on the top ten list include a low cost of living, no taxes on pensions, the Greenway, the Botanic Gardens, easy access to hunting and fishing, and popular community events, such as Frontier Days – featuring the world's largest outdoor rodeo – and the A-A-R-P National Spelling Bee.
